Brunneocorticium

Etymology: From brunneus (=brown) + corticium, referring to the presence of abundant brown skeletal hyphae in this genus.
Diagnosis: Basidiocarp resupinate. Hymenial surface white or whitish, smooth, cracked; margin brown. Hyphal system dimitic; generative hyphae nodose-septate. Subiculum brown, due to presence of abundant yellowish-brown skeletal hyphae. Subicular generative hyphae colorless; subicular skeletal hyphae yellowish-brown or brown, occasionally branched, generally thick-walled. Hymenium 6 thickening, with dense texture. Leptocystidia present. Basidia subclavate with a median constriction. Basidiospores pyriform, bearing a minute apiculus, smooth, thin-walled, usually guttulate, colorless, IKI–, CB–.
