Myxariellum

Myxariellum V. Malysheva & V. Spirin, in Spirin et al., Nordic Journal of Botany 37: 8 (2019)

Etymology: Myxariellum (Lat., noun) – a deminutive form of Myxarium.

Diagnosis: Basidiocarps effused, continuous, smooth, gelatinous, very thin. Hyphal structure monomitic; hyphae clamped. Cystidia present, thin-walled, tapering; hyphidia present. Basidia 4-celled, 913 × 810 μm, pedunculate. Basidiospores hyaline, thin-walled, broadly ellipsoid to broadly cylindrical, often slightly curved, 59.5 × 45 μm. On strongly decomposed logs of conifers.

Notes: Extremely thin basidiocarps, well-developed cystidia and basidia with thick sterigmata differentiate Myxariellum from the other genera treated here.
