Franziozyma
Franziozyma Q.M. Wang, D. Begerow, and M. Groenew in Li, Wang et al., Frontiers in Microbiology 12(no. 777338): 24 (2022)
Etymology: the genus is named in honor of Franz Oberwinkler for his pioneering work on taxonomy of smuts.
Diagnosis: This genus is proposed for the branch represented by strain XZ4C4T, which formed a separate branch from Golubeviales and other orders in Exobasidiomycetes. The genus is mainly circumscribed by the phylogenetic analysis of the six loci dataset. Sexual reproduction is not known. Colonies are butyrous, white, margin, or eroded. Budding cells present or not. Hyphae are formed. Ballistoconidia are produced.
