Diagnosis: Basidiocarps perennial, pileate, single or imbricate, semicircular to ungulate, strongly adnate, coriaceous when fresh, becoming corky to woody and light when dry; upper surface dark brown, strigose; margin sharp, with small warts. Hymenophore daedaleoid to lamellate, rusty to deep brown, paler than upper surface; trama and context yellowish brown to umber brown. Hyphal system trimitic, generative hyphae hyaline and with clamp connections; skeletal hyphae dominant, yellowish-brown, thick-walled to subsolid; binding hyphae rare and scattered in the context. Cystidia present, clavate; basidia clavate, with four sterigmata and a basal clamp connection, basidiospores cylindrical, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, IKI–, CB–. On fallen angiosperm trunks, causing a brown rot, present in subtropics and tropics.
