Etymology: Rhomboidia (Lat.): referring to the rhomboid pileus of the basidiocarp with the poroid hymenophore.
Diagnosis: Basidiomata annual, stipitate. Pileus rhomboid, arising from a multiple branched stipe. Pores angular, small, dissepiments thin, entire. Hyphal system monomitic; generative hyphae thick-walled bearing clamp connections, IKI–, CB–; tissues unchanged in KOH. Cystidia absent, fusoid cystidioles numerous; hyphal ends numerous. Basidia barrel-shaped to clavate. Basidiospores broadly ellipsoid, hyaline, thin-walled, smooth, IKI–, CB–.
