Geliporus

Geliporus Yuan Yuan, Jia J. Chen & S.H. He 2017, in Yuan et al., Mycoscience, 58(3), 197-203 (2017).

Etymology: gelus (Lat.), frost, referring to whitish, frost-like pore surface.

            Diagnosis: Basidiomata perennial, resupinate, corky; tissue darkening in KOH. Hymenophore poroid. Pore surface white to cream when fresh, buff-yellowto greyish brownwhen dry. Subiculum yellowish brown, corky. Tube layer concolorous with the pore surface. Hyphal systemmonomitic; generative hyphae hyaline to yellowish, bearing simple septa. Basidiospores hyaline, thinwalled, smooth, cylindric to oblong-ellipsoid, IKI, CB–.

Notes: Differs from other genera by the combination of the following characters: resupinate basidiomata; poroid hymenophore; tissues darkening in KOH; a monomitic hyphal system with simple-septate and xanthochroic hyphae; hyaline,acyanophilous, thin-walled, cylindric to oblong-ellipsoid basidiospores; and causing a white rot.
