Etymology: From halo+aleurodiscus, referring to salt tolerance and morphological similarity to Aleurodiscus.
Diagnosis: Basidiomata annual, resupinate, effused. Hyphal system monomitic; hyphae nodose-septate. Gloeocystidia tubular, with a basal clamp, positive to sulphobenzaldehyde (SA+). Dendrohyphidia present in the hymenium. Basidia clavate, sometimes sinuous, with a basal clamp, producing 4 sterigmata. Basidiospores ellipsoid to cylindrical, warted, thin- to slightly thick-walled, amyloid. Associated with white pocket rot.
