Acanthofungus Sheng H. Wu, Boidin & C.Y. Chien 2000, in Gorjón, Studies in Fungi 5(1), 125–309 (2020)

Diagnosis: Basidiome pulvinate, hymenial surface smooth. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae with clamps. Acanthophyses numerous. Gloeocystidia SA+. Basidia clavate, with 4-sterigmata, and a basal clamp. Basidiospores ellipsoid, smooth, thin-walled, amyloid, binucleate. Causing a white pocket rot. Nuclear behaviour heterocytic.
