Amaurodon

Amaurodon J. Schröt. 1888, in Gorjón, Studies in Fungi 5(1), 125–309 (2020).

Diagnosis: Basidiome resupinate, detachable, mostly arachnoid or pelliculose, continuous, hymenophore bluish when fresh, yellow-green when dry, smooth, hydnoid or poroid, concolorous with subiculum, sterile margin usually indeterminate or byssoid and paler than hymenophore. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphal cords absent or rarely present only in subiculum, subicular and subhymenial hyphae simple-septate or clamped, thin-walled, hyaline or sometimes partly bluish violet in KOH. Cystidia absent. Basidia utriform, not stalked, often sinuous, hyaline or partly violet in KOH, hyaline in distilled water, with 4-sterigmata. Basidiospores slightly globose or ellipsoid, smooth, verrucose and bi- or trifurcate, mostly violet in KOH, hyaline or yellowish in distilled water.
