Irpex

Irpex Fr. 1825, in Gorjón, Studies in Fungi 5(1), 224 (2020).

            Diagnosis: Basidiome annual, resupinate, effused or slightly effuse-reflexed, abhymenial surface whitish, tomentose, hymenophore poroid to hydnoid, with irregular to irpicoid pores. Hyphal system dimitic, generative hyphae simple-septate, skeletal hyphae thick-walled, aseptate. Cystidia (pseudocystidia or skeletocystidia) present, thick-walled, with encrusted terminal part. Basidia clavate, with 4-sterigmata and a simple basal septum. Basidiospores cylindrical, smooth, thin-walled, IKI–.
