Trechisporales K.H. Larss., in Hibbett et al., Mycological Research 111 (5): 541 (2007)

Diagnostic characters: Basidiomycetes with effused, stipitate or clavarioid basidiomata. Hymenophore smooth, grandinioid, hydnoid or poroid. Hyphal system monomitic, hyphae clamped, subicular hyphae with or without ampullate septa. Cystidia present in some species, mostly lacking. Basidia with four to six sterigmata. Spores smooth or ornamented. On wood or soil.
